Singapore, 10th September 2024: Liquid Group, a leading fintech company specialising in digital cross-border payment solutions, is delighted to announce its partnership with PhonePe, India’s largest digital payments platform, to enable UPI QR payments across Liquid Group’s extensive merchant network in Singapore. This partnership will provide Indian travellers with the convenience of using their PhonePe app to make payments at key tourist destinations throughout Singapore.

As a popular destination for Indian tourists, Singapore offers a wide range of shopping, dining, and leisure activities. Thanks to this collaboration, Indian visitors will now be able to use their preferred UPI apps, such as  PhonePe, to make payments by scanning QR codes displayed at merchants across Singapore, all powered by Liquid Group’s advanced interoperable payment infrastructure.

Expanding UPI QR Payment Acceptance in Singapore

UPI QR will be prominently accepted at tourist-centric locations, including Changi Airport, duty-free outlets, restaurants, bars, and popular retailers such as The Cocoa Trees, Charles & Keith, Luvenus Jewellery, Hard Rock Café, as well as key sightseeing spots and transport services. This collaboration is made possible through Liquid Group’s partnership with NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), which enables merchants to accept UPI as a payment method.

For Indian travellers, this integration simplifies the payment experience, allowing them to pay in Indian Rupees (INR) while ensuring transparency and ease of use. PhonePe users need only scan the QR code presented by participating merchants, providing a seamless and familiar payment process.
